And brings us more “Funny Songs About War, Ignorance, and Greed” – another benefit concert to delight and entertain as only this nationally renown singer-songwriter can.
Roy Zimmerman writes fiercely funny songs about ignorance, war and greed. In eleven albums over twenty years, Roy has brought the sting of satire to the struggle for Peace and Social Justice. His songs are heard on NPR, PRI, Air America and Sirius Radio. Roy’s YouTube videos have garnered over two million views and tens of thousands of comments, many of them coherent. The Los Angeles Times says, “Zimmerman displays a lacerating wit and keen awareness of society’s foibles that bring to mind a latter-day Tom Lehrer.”
Roy will perform at 11:00 am at the Norman UU Fellowship on Sunday, March 1st.
The Fellowship is at 1309 West Boyd.
Admission is Free and following Roy’s performance the Fellowship will host a fabulous

Bylaws, Programs & Radio Engineer
Our Working Group has grown to 24, and now includes a Radio Engineer! Evan Stair, an Electrical Engineer with the FAA, will oversee the purchase and construction of our studio equipment and provide professional help in maintenance and audio needs.
Meanwhile, Mike Givel, Casey Holcomb, Gene Perry and Mary Francis are working on Bylaws. Others are invited to join – and writers are especially welcome.
Working on programs and programming standards are: Professor Clemencia Rodreguez, Marci Fleming, Ben Kennedy and Brad Fielder.
Another grant proposal is on the way and several other projects, brochures, and spreadsheets are in the works. Let us know where you want to fit in.
Expect to hear about PTFP grant in Sept.
That’s when the Public Telecommunications Facilities Program (PTFP) will let grant applicants know whether or not they have been awarded a grant. If we win the grant,
we also will be awarded a Broadcast License and a Construction Permit. Those who want to become a Founder must donate or provide an in-kind contribution prior to the FCC awarding of the Broadcast License. After any FCC ruling, there is a 30 day period for appeals. We promise to let you know as soon as they rule.
This VOICES of REASON Radio project simply wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for our loyal Founders. And the list continues to grow. Thank you one and all – not only for your generous contributions, but especially for your faith in this endeavor. It is truly a humbling experience to ask for your support and realize how many are willing to give it.

Yes, I have had quite a few ask about the Inauguration. This isn’t really the place to discuss that, but you can read about it at: http://www.normantranscript.com/letters/local_story_031010720
