On Aug. 29, members of the information technology community of Oklahoma City gathered to give of themselves and their Web-site-building expertise. For an entire day, five teams of developers and designers worked and coded to create interactive and effective Web sites for selected nonprofits lacking the resources and the know-how to produce a Web site that would actively propel their mission.

This Extreme Web Makeover was the first event put together by Code4aCause. Code4aCause brings together developers and designers to create technology to empower nonprofits who improve the quality of life in central Oklahoma. By tapping into local technology volunteers they’ve created a sustainable event to develop or improve the Web presence of selected nonprofits.
