And the money from the sale of this "thing", I agree, should be given to the CART system to help students going to school and people going to work.

Well, Fannie, you probably told me about teaching in Alaska when we first met at Rena's, but if you did I did not remember and it is good to know that you led such a fascinating life b/4 returning to OK. Anyway, its almost a year since you wrote that article, but I had to comment on it. I agree it is sad that young man had to drop out of school b/c of the bus situation. I hope he was able to find a way around dropping out of school And I 100% agree with you about that horrible, pig woman statue. I have NEVER seen such a hideous looking statue and it almost seems like devil worship or something. It should be sold back to the person who sculptured it and that person should melt it down and do something constructive with the metal, like make park benches or something or pretty decorative wall mountings or something, but something pretty and something that makes sense.

I am an OU alumnus who recently returned from teaching two years in Alaska. I have not purchased a car yet, and have been riding the buses around the OKC Metro for the past few weeks. A couple of weeks ago, there was a young man on the bus who said that he is dropping out of OU because they cut out the bus that used to run from OU to OKC in the middle of the day. This young man had been going to school in the mornings and working in OKC in the afternoons. This is really sad. OU should subsidize these buses so their students can get around. I suggest they sell that grotesque statue of the pig woman and donate that money to CART.
